SLRCS Joins Regional Partners to Prepare for Future Malaria Prevention Campaigns

Representatives of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society recently participated in a week-long Malaria Alliance Prevention Workshop aimed at strengthening preparedness for the potential 2027 Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITN) distribution campaign.
The workshop, sponsored by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, was held from 6th to 12th May 2026 and brought together participants from the Sierra Leone National Malaria Programme, Red Cross Movement partners, and government ministries from Uganda, Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, and Zambia.

The training focused on enhancing the capacity of Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) and health education personnel in preparation for future malaria prevention initiatives, including planned ITN and Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaigns.
This engagement reflects the continued commitment of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society to building staff capacity and supporting effective community health interventions in the fight against malaria.
